About Us

Ubuntu African Society Bay of Plenty Inc was founded on 22 January 2021 and was Incorporated under the Incorporated Societies Act 1908 on the 14th of December 2021 and was reregistered to become a society under the Incorporated under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022 on the 26th of October 2024. 

The Society became a Non for-Profit organisation on the 17th February 2023.

Ubuntu African Society Bay of Plenty Inc was established to facilitate African lead initiatives for the wellbeing of the African Community in the Bay of Plenty. The Society supports and encourages its members to celebrate their African, identity, culture, and Heritage to improve its members self-confidence and over all well-being through empowerment, collaboration, humanity and respect.
